Our clients used their basement to entertain their kids while they were small. Young kids tend to be rough on their surroundings, so they didn’t consider a remodel then. Once the kids had grown up to the point where that wasn’t as much of a concern, they wanted to convert the space into what they described as a ‘Harry Potter’ themed entertaining oasis complete with a fireplace, multiple TVs to watch games, a gym with a sauna, table games, two bars, an update to her office, and an update to the existing theater.
The house our clients bought was originally the sales center for the community builder. The builder initially used the main floor for the sales offices, and the basement was also finished. However, the basement was set up as the product showroom. The workers used cheap materials to complete the walls, and they designed the recessed lighting layouts to highlight the products displayed on the walls.
We brought in DuVal Design to assist with the layout and interior design. The clients were thrilled with the result of their basement remodel. Their project was even featured in Houzz magazine.
As a side project for DuVal, they assisted the clients with furniture and artwork selections. DuVal Design is an invaluable trade partner for our high-end clients who want a full-service solution to their remodeling and construction needs.
